The story of Casino has always reminded her of the old legends known as the Icarus. The more wealth they amass the harsher the downfall is. While for Icarus the wealth refers to his freedom but for the casino, it refers to actual monetary values. That's why she and a colleague is sent here to rob all of the wealth from a visitor that has been raking a big winning consecutively - They will become the downfall of this visitor.

Nia and DANNY HALL will play a round of poker with this person in a special room reserved for them. While DANNY HALL will act as the player, Nia will act as the dealer. Nia has prepared a specific shuffling technique and it is not any kind of shuffling that is known. The technique is still a prototype and is designed solely for Nia's memory. While she is able to shuffle in a way to make sure that the other party will get a low point - She is still unable to find a way for DANNY HALL to get a high number to make sure she beats the person's card. All Nia can hope is that DANNY HALL has some trick to overcome that. Well, with all of the preparation set - The game will start.

he greets the dealer along with the rest of the table, waving a hand that doesn't have a few cards up his sleeve. looking over at the dealer, he nods, ready for the round to begin as he tosses in the opening bet.

The supposed winning man is grinning an idiot truly believes that he can win this and gets out from this place with a big winning. Nia can only internally sigh feeling bad for him while remaining her poker face and proceed to shuffle the card. From the third party, her shuffling looks natural. No one will be suspicious about the fact that it has been rigged by the dealer herself. Nia deals the card real quick and she knows that the winning man got a low card while Nia doesn't know what card does DANNY HALL got.

Staring at the man, she can see a momentarily shift of expression from poker face to disappointment and then back to poker face. "Place your starting bets" Nia announces and the man boldly puts a considerably high bet for the starting bet despite the low point cards. 'I guess, all he can do now is to convince the other people that they have a good card and make them fold but sadly - that plan won't go with his way' Nia thought to herself. Waiting for DANNY HALL to put his starting bet.

the thing about poker is that setting up a winning hand is more difficult than it needs to be. with a game like blackjack, having an ace up his sleeve most often meant securing the round. but the ace for this particular hand in poker?

not bad either.

two aces, so far.

danny has a horrible poker face but he tries his best to remain neutral. he places the same bet as the other man, which is definitely more than a months' pay for him.

"big bets, huh?"

"Game like this always more fun if there is a big bet" The man casually throws a remark. A remark that almost make Nia laugh but she is able to hold it back. "With both bets has been shared to the table. Now pick whether you want to raise or fold?" Nia announces as she deals another card while remaining to make sure that the other man has a losing card. The man noticed it too and he is start to sweat a little bit but he decides to play bold and raise the bet but with only a few amount - In contrast to what he did earlier at the beginning.

if danny understands the rules correctly, he could meet the man's raised bet, or raise the bet even more himself, forcing the man to raise as well. and should the man fold then, well, he'd lose his bet thus far.

either way, danny knows he has a winning hand, so the options are his to choose.

"big bets make it more fun, right?"

he nervously chuckles, then throws even more chips in, forcing the man to raise to meet danny's.

Nia starts to feel unsure about her partner as he clearly shows some nervousness. Nia is unable to think about what would the higher-up do if they fail on what they are supposed to do right now. While Nia can be sure that the man has a low card right now but it is not the lowest - If by any chance that DANNY HALL somehow gets something even lower than that, they are screwed. Nia deal for the last round and now it is time for their last bet.

The man look at the card back and forth then decides to end this with a blast hoping that DANNY HALL got intimidated and fold. "All-in" He pushes all of his money to the betting pool and if he loses this bet, he will lose everything. He just wants the man to pull away from the bet.

well, danny is certainly intimidated.

he's not a good judge of character, nor can he read people well, but he knows the cards he has, and that's three straight aces, which is a strong a hand as any.

maybe the old danny would've folded.

The color in the man's face flushed when he noticed that Danny didn't eat up his bait, his eyes starts to swim around especially to the exit door where it is guarded by two security guards. Nia, who notices it, decides to end his suffering and decide to end this charade - "As we have reached the final round, please reveal your card. If I notice a sign of refusal on showing the card, I will declare them as the loser and all bets will be forfeited" Nia announced calmly as if she was reading a book. Her tone right now shares a similarity to fictional folklore that goes by the name of Lorelei that sang to lure out the despair of a person as the man reveals the card which is the second-lowest card within the poker line. Nia stares at Danny hoping that he knows what he is doing and not getting the lowest point and lost to this man after her attempt to rig this.

fortunately, danny knows what he's doing. his hand glides over his cards, and stealthily, the one up his sleeve slides out, and he slides one away in return, swapping them out.

finally, he flips his cards open, revealing three aces.

As Danny shows his hand, the man suddenly screams in anguish and quickly tries to run just to let the guard pin down the man to the ground after roundhousing the poor guy. Nia let out a relieved sigh as she take his card on the table and reveal a high card - which mean he lose this game and all of his winning + money that he owns. "Well, that goes smoothly - I guess. Honestly, I got cold sweat in the middle when I saw you get nervous" Nia mentions when the man already got escorted out. She tidied up the card back to the deck then suddenly she remembers something.

"Ah, since you are from the same faction as me. Do you know about Raphael Pryde, personally? Was wondering what kind of person he is" Nia asks him casually. Trying her luck, hoping that he knows about him. She makes it her personal goal to get gratitude from that man.
